Mixed tocopherols are a combination of the four tocopherols present in vitamin E: delta tocopherol, alpha tocopherol, gamma tocopherol and beta tocopherol. Each tocopherol is a type of antioxidant, which is a substance that can inhibit oxidation in cells, thereby reducing the risk of cell degradation and diseases like cancer. Natural forms of all four tocopherols are available in leafy green vegetables, nuts, wholegrain foods and sunflower oils.

Mixed Tocopherol is a generic term for tocopherols and tocotrienols. Mixed Tocopherol is a family of α-, β-, γ-, and δ- (respectively: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta) tocopherols and corresponding four tocotrienols. It is a fat-soluble antioxidant that stops the production of reactive oxygen species formed when fat undergoes oxidation. Of these, α-tocopherol (also written as alpha-tocopherol) has been most studied as it has the highest bioavailability.

Mixed tocopherols 95% is a brownish red, clear oily liquid, nearly odorless, and is composed of d-alpha tocopherol, d-beta tocopherol, d-gamma tocopherol and d-delta tocopherol, and derived from natural sources, i.e. from edible vegetable oil. It can be used as antioxidant and nutrient in foods, cosmetics, and personal care products, also can be used in feed.
