Application of canthaxanthin

An inherited blood disorder called erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP).Taking canthaxanthin by mouth, with or without
beta-carotene, seems to reduce rash, itching, or eczema caused by sensitivity to sunlight exposure in people with EPP.

Function of canthaxanthin

A skin discoloration disorder (vitiligo). Early research suggests that taking a specific product (Carotinoid-N) containing
canthaxanthin and beta-carotene improves the appearance of skin sores and protects against the sun in people with
vitiligo.However, the treatment does not seem to affect skin pigmentation.

1. Canthaxanthin is used for egg-yolk and broiler pigmentation, as the red component of the yolk colour, and in foods and cosmetics requiring a more orange-red hue.
2. Canthaxanthin is widely used and generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for use as a food color additive. especially suitable for fortification and coloration of beverages,also suitable for soups,sauces,cereals and confectionery. 
3. It can be used to meat, frinks, jelly, candy and milchings. It also can be used in Effervescent Tablets.

Used as a food additive , As a coloring agent for food such as fast food, baking food, drink, jelly, confectionery and dairy products.
Used as a feed additive , As chicken feed and fish feed, Suitable for coloring yolk, chicken and fish.
